The 5 Hottest Health & Wellness Trends for Women in 2020

Published on: November 18th, 2019

While the fundamentals of looking and feeling healthy don’t change very much, it’s always fun to stay on top of the latest trends in health and wellness.

People are constantly trying to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.

This article exposes some of the healthiest and most exciting trends you’re going to see in the year 2020 and beyond.

Trend #1. Sauna time

What started out as a normal aspect of the Scandinavian lifestyle is finally making waves in America as well.

Sauna houses are popping all over American cities for good reason.

Spending time in the sauna is extremely healthy, and leaves you feeling like a million bucks.

Studies have linked sauna usage with longer lifespans, detoxification, skin enhancement, better brain health and so many other benefits.

If you live near a large city in the USA, make sure to keep an eye on this trend, because I guarantee there’s a sauna somewhere close by.

Trend #2. Water therapy

The cool thing about water therapy is that it’s a flexible term.

Humans need H20 to survive.

When you have access to fresh clean water, you simply feel more refreshed and energized.

While I’m a huge fan of drinking clean spring water, the type of water therapy I’m actually referring to in today’s article revolves around physically getting inside of a body of water and exercising.

Water therapy or hydrotherapy is incredibly beneficial because it’s fun and doesn’t even feel like exercising.

Just find a local gym with an indoor pool or an aqua fitness center near you and you won’t be sorry.

Trend #3. Frequent travel for pleasure

While business travel has the tendency to stress people out, traveling for fun is always an adventure.

In 2020, travel has become more common than ever.

You can log into Instagram and quickly realize that you have friends on nearly every continent.

Travel is no longer a big deal. It’s normal. It’s fun. But best of all, travelling for pleasure is extremely healthy.

All it takes is an empty week on your calendar, a plane ticket and a backpack!

While you’re traveling, just make sure to knock some peak experiences off your bucket list.

Trend #4. Higher-quality food and beverage

More women than ever are waking up to the fact that food can taste delicious and make you feel good at the same exact time.

Out with the McDonald’s, and in with the meal prepping, cast iron skillets, Vitamix blenders, Crock-Pots and ovens.

You can check out these quick and easy healthy meal recipes for reference!

As far as beverages go, more people will be replacing processed sugars with natural sweeteners like xylitol and stevia.

In the year 2020, you’ll probably hear less about Diet Coke and more about kombucha, coffee and other naturally-uplifting non-alcoholic drinks.

Trend #5. Conscious skincare

Last but not least, in the year 2020, conscious skincare will be all the rage.

More and more women are finally starting to realize that your skin is your body’s largest organ, which means your skin should be treated just like any other vital organ!

Luckily, it’s becoming pretty easy to use skincare products that deliver extremely effective results and are also very safe and gentle to use on your face and body.

On Health & Experiences, we’ve raved about the benefits of using chemical-free sunscreens, natural vitamin C skin therapies, and so many other gentle yet effective skincare solutions.

The future of health & wellness is about knowing the ingredients you’re putting into your body…while dramatically improving your appearance at the same time!

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals Review (Pure Ascorbic Acid)

Updated: November 16th, 2019

Since I’ve gone through multiple bottles of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals, I figured that I’d write you a quick review of the product. This article gives you the good, bad, and ultimately my recommendation of whether you should buy the Now Foods brand of Vitamin C Crystals. Enjoy…

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals PROS (the good stuff)

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals Review Front

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals provide you with a great way to get a whopping dose of vitamin C every single day.

Just one half teaspoon of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals provides you with 2,250mg of vitamin C.

This means that one half teaspoon of these vitamin C crystals is equal to 2500% of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C.

In other words, you can take just a tiny bit of these crystals every day, and boost your immune health tremendously!

Vitamin C has been shown to help you fight mild to severe colds, strengthen your immune system, fight damage caused by free radicals…and simply make you feel better.

If you’re looking for an easy way to feel better, I think that Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals gives you a really great way to do just that.

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals CONS (the bad stuff)

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals Review Ingredients

The bad part about Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals is that this product is somewhat expensive if you use a lot of it (like I do).

While the price of this product tends to fluctuate, it’s generally on the pricier side of the spectrum (at least compared to other vitamin C products that I’ve seen).

For example, in a previous article, I wrote about the power of using pure ascorbic acid for canning, preserving food, maintaining health, and even cleaning your swimming pool! If you plan on using a LOT of vitamin C crystals (also called “vitamin C powder”), then I recommend reading the article that I’ve just linked to. In the article, you’ll see that there are bulk vitamin C powder products available. These bulk vitamin C powder packages end up providing you with a much better value overall.

But, other than the slightly expensive price of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals, I can’t complain too much about the product. It works extremely well, and it gets the job done for the most part.

My Final Recommendation To You

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals Review Suggested Dosage

If you’re interested in using just a little bit of vitamin C crystals every day, then you should definitely pick up a bottle of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals. Sure, you might pay a few extra bucks when you buy this product. But, at least you’ll know that you’re paying for a high-quality source of vitamin C crystals.

If you know for a fact that you’ll be using multiple pounds of vitamin C crystals in your home – then I recommend that you go with a larger package of vitamin C powder (which you will find in my article on using ascorbic acid for various different things).

Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals Review Conclusion

I generally love Now Foods products.

I’ve written a Now Foods True Calm review, and have recommended Now Foods products in many other articles of mine.

In the case of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals, I still love their product, although I think they missed the mark a little bit with their slightly expensive pricing for this product.

Either way, the price of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals isn’t a deal-breaker by any means. You’re still paying for a great-quality product, and you’re also paying for the peace of mind that you get when you use Now Foods supplements. I think that’s worth the extra couple of dollars in the end. And I’m sure that you’ll be happy with your tasty, health-enhancing vitamin C!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this review of Now Foods Vitamin C Crystals.

Have you tried this product yet? Are you currently using it? Please do me a favor, and leave your thoughts about this product in the comments section below. I look forward to hearing from you!

Natrol Melatonin Review – Best Natural Sleep Aid of 2020?

This Natrol Melatonin review exposes my reasons for believing this product may be the best natural sleep aid of 2020.

I’ve been really struggling with sleep lately. And, I’ve tried everything from Nyquil, to magnesium, to natural anti-anxiety supplements.

But, when it comes down to using a safe, healthy and natural sleep aid, I have to recommend Natrol Melatonin for the following reasons:

Natrol Melatonin is safe

Natrol Melatonin Review Ingredients

Natrol Melatonin (3 mg) is considered safe because melatonin is a hormone that’s naturally secreted by the pineal gland in your brain.

So, while your body already produces melatonin, some people benefit from receiving an extra boost of melatonin at night.

I’ve personally used Natrol Melatonin for a number of years. And, I’ve given Natrol Melatonin to my own mother and grandmother when they needed to get some deep sleep.

After countless uses of Natrol Melatonin, I’ve never had any sort of issue with the supplement whatsoever. You can trust that Natrol Melatonin is safe to use.

Natrol Melatonin is pretty effective

Natrol Melatonin Review Effectiveness

Natrol Melatonin is one of the best ingredients that you can use to achieve deeper and more comfortable sleep.

Simply pop a 3 mg tablet into your mouth (I find 3 mg to be the perfect strength).

Then, let your tablet of Natrol Melatonin dissolve beneath your tongue.

Once the melatonin has dissolved beneath your tongue, it will take 20 minutes or so before you start to feel tired.

But, once the melatonin “hits” you, that’s when you’ll know that you’re in for a good night of rest.

Natrol Melatonin is extremely affordable

Natrol Melatonin Review Affordable

While the price of Natrol Melatonin can fluctuate, it’s typically extremely affordable.

You can check out the price of Natrol Melatonin on Amazon, or visit a store in your local area to see the cost of Natrol Melatonin.

But, when you compare Natrol Melatonin to similar natural sleep aids on the market, you’ll probably find Natrol Melatonin to be relatively inexpensive.

You can use Natrol Melatonin as often as you need to (within reason)

Natrol Melatonin Review Directions

It’s recommended that you use Natrol Melatonin “for relief of occasional sleeplessness” (this is actually written on the bottle).

It’s probably true that you should avoid using melatonin every single night.

But on the flip side, if you actually need to take a low dose of melatonin regularly, you’ll most likely be OK.

Natrol Melatonin even tastes good, too

Natrol Melatonin Review Tastes Good

I like that Natrol Melatonin is sweetened with xylitol, and has a good flavor when it dissolves beneath your tongue.

It comes in strawberry flavor. So, you might even find that it tastes pretty delicious.

Natrol Melatonin review conclusion

Overall, Natrol Melatonin (3 mg) is a fast, affordable and convenient natural sleep aid that simply works as intended.

If you need a safe and easy way to “reset” your internal clock, or deal with occasional sleeplessness, you will benefit from using this brand of melatonin.

Jason Powersmile Review – Best Natural Tooth Gel of 2020

Updated on: October 23rd, 2019

This Jason Powersmile review explains why Jason Powersmile is the best-tasting, healthiest and all-around most effective natural tooth gel of 2020.

Yes, this review might be short and sweet.

But, this review could very well influence how healthy your teeth and gums turn out to be over the long-term.

So, you’re going to want to read through this article to the very end…

Jason Powersmile Review – Why This Tooth Gel is a Really Good One

Jason Powersmile Review Tooth Gel Tube

Before trying the Jason Powersmile Anti-Cavity & Whitening (Powerful Peppermint) Tooth Gel, I had no idea what a good tooth gel felt like.

I was so used to using toothpastes like Crest, Colgate, Aquafresh, Sensodyne and even Rembrandt.

And, from the moment that I tried Jason Powersmile, I immediately knew that it was different for these reasons:

When you use Jason Powersmile, your left with a natural taste in your mouth.

Natural is the best way for me to describe the aftertaste of this tooth gel, because it genuinely tastes like what a natural product should taste like.

Minty, lightweight and clean is how I would describe the aftertaste of this tooth gel.

Fresh breath

When I used toothpastes like Crest and Colgate, I could hardly ever achieve breath that actually stayed fresh.

I think this is because toothpastes that use artificial ingredients tend to make your breath smell bad regardless of how well you brush your teeth.

On the other hand, Jason Powersmile seems to work extremely well at keeping my breath nice and clean over the course of the day.

Tooth and gum health

My teeth and gums feel incredibly healthier after using Jason Powersmile.

I have to be extremely careful about how I brush my teeth, because my gums are easily inflamed (they can start to bleed). I personally have to watch out for periodontitis.

And, I feel like Jason Powersmile is very gentle on my teeth and gums, which allows me to enjoy a good cleaning, without harming any part of my mouth.

Jason Powersmile is roughly the same price as similar natural tooth gels that you’ll find at the grocery store.

This is a great bargain tooth gel for the overall quality that you receive.

Jason Powersmile Ingredients – What Are the Ingredients?

Jason Powersmile Review Tooth Gel

I use the Jason Powersmile Anti-Cavity & Whitening (Powerful Peppermint) Tooth Gel, which is just one type of tooth gel that the Jason Powersmile brand offers.

This type of tooth gel does contain fluoride.

It also contains ingredients like CoQ10, xylitol, peppermint, aloe vera leaf gel, bamboo stem powder, and quite a few other ingredients.

I like that the Jason company makes a great effort to use healthy, natural, organic and effective ingredients in all of their products.

So, that’s pretty much what you get with this tooth gel.

Oh, and it’s worth noting that Jason Powersmile also offers tooth gels that don’t contain fluoride.

Jason Powersmile Antiplaque & Whitening (Vanilla Mint) is one example of a Jason tooth gel that doesn’t contain any fluoride at all.

The Downside of Jason Powersmile Tooth Gel

There is a downside to using Jason Powersmile Tooth Gel.

Basically, you’re probably going to assume that this tooth gel tastes a little funky from the moment that you use it.

But, there’s a good reason for this:

This tooth gel tastes strange at first because you’re probably used to using artificial toothpaste ingredients – and your taste buds don’t know how to respond to the taste of pure, natural ingredients.

Yes, you will probably think this tooth gel tastes weird the first few times that you brush with it.

But, if you can just ignore the initial strange taste, there’s a very good chance that you’ll actually come to enjoy the taste of Jason Powersmile.

After brushing with Jason Powersmile, I literally can’t return to using ordinary, artificial toothpastes like Crest, Colgate and Rembrandt. They just taste so bad to me now.

So, I guess the biggest downside of Jason Powersmile is actually kind of a positive feature in disguise…

You won’t be able to return to using cheap and artificial toothpastes after using this product. Your mouth isn’t going to let you.

Jason Powersmile Review Natural Tooth Gel in Packaging

Overall, I hope that this Jason Powersmile review helps you determine whether this is the best natural tooth gel for you.

I truly believe that Jason Powersmile Anti-Cavity & Whitening (Powerful Peppermint) Tooth Gel is an excellent, super-healthy product that will change how you think about brushing your teeth.

Most people spend years of their life scrubbing their teeth and gums with potentially harmful chemical ingredients.

But thankfully, with Jason Powersmile, you can at least feel confident in knowing that you’re probably reversing some of this damage, and taking much better care of your mouth as a result.

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance – Top 5 Herbal Remedies

Last updated: October 21st, 2019

When your hormones are out of whack, bad things tend to happen. At best, you’ll feel moody, stressed, and depressed.

At worst, your libido will be non-existent, your hair will start to thin, and you’ll reminisce about how good life used to be.

And, that’s why you’ll want to take advantage of adaptogenic herbs for hormone balance.

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Top 5 Herbal Remedies Featured

The top 5 hormone-balancing herbs listed in this article are actually considered adaptogens.

Adaptogens are essentially non-toxic ingredients from Mother Nature that help your body adapt to unhealthy modern day stressors. And best of all, both women and men can benefit from using adaptogenic herbs that help to balance your hormones.

So, if you’re ready to bring balance back into your life, just keep reading to see the best herbs for hormones that you need to know about…

1. Rhodiola

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Rhodiola

Rhodiola is an amazing adaptogen that grows in cold areas of the world, like the Arctic, and mountainous regions of central Asia.

This herb is an especially important ingredient for balancing your level of cortisol, and healing your adrenals.

Because, it’s pretty safe to say that most people in the Western world desperately need a natural source of stress relief, since chronic stress is an everyday affliction in North America and Europe. And, rhodiola provides an excellent source of calming and healing power.

But, using rhodiola can also help to improve mental performance, energy levels and mood. It’s even been shown that rhodiola may contain ergogenic (performance-enhancing) properties in regards to physical strength and endurance.

So, rhodiola just might be the perfect adaptogenic herb for providing you with the energy and stress relief that most people are in desperate search of.

2. Organic Ashwagandha

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Organic India Ashwagandha

Organic Ashwagandha is one of the most powerful adaptogenic herbs on this list. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for an extremely long time, and many people continue to rave about its benefits to this day.

Ashwagandha is primarily used to reduce anxiety, balance your level of cortisol (one of the most important hormones that you have), and boost libido.

If you haven’t tried ashwagandha yet, there’s a good chance that you’ll notice its benefits the very first time you take it. People tend to love ashwagandha. But, some people think that ashwagandha can make you feel a little bit too cool and calm at times. So, it’s for this reason that you might want to use ashwagandha for a few weeks at a time (cycling on and off the herb). Other people find that they can safely use ashwagandha for months at a time without any issues.

Just pay close attention to how you feel while using ashwagandha, and you’ll almost certainly be fine.

Pro tip: It’s worth mentioning that many people also use ashwagandha as a thyroid modulating ingredient, in addition to using it in the fight against anxiety and stress. This means that ashwagandha can have a huge impact when it comes to balancing your hormones, and making you feel like “yourself” again.

3. Red Maca Root

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Red Maca Root

Red Maca Root is my personal favorite adaptogen on this list.

This is a herb that’s native to the Andes mountains in Peru, so you know it has to be good.

It’s extremely energizing, mood-enhancing, and powerful for balancing your hormones.

It’s for this reason that I actually use red maca root powder before my workouts. I use this herb as an alternative to common pre-workout powders.

The one downside of red maca root is that it tastes bad. Like, really bad. But that’s okay.

This herb is well worth guzzling down in some chocolate almond milk, orange juice, or any other drink that masks the taste of maca.

I like to drink maca in a small rocks glass with whatever beverage I happen to have on hand (no, not with alcohol)!

4. Panax Ginseng

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Panax Ginseng

Panax Ginseng also goes by the name Asian ginseng (or “true ginseng”). This is an adaptogenic herb that has been used safely in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

Panax ginseng is a species of ginseng that’s commonly used to boost energy, improve stamina, and enhance cognitive function. Interestingly, Panax ginseng can also be useful for managing the symptoms that come along with menopause. You might even recognize ginseng as an ingredient that’s commonly found in energy drinks. So, it’s safe to say that Panax ginseng is one of the most popular adaptogenic herbs of all time.

Overall, if you’re looking for a safe and healthy way to kickstart your hormones (and feel a lot more energized) – then you’ll probably want to give this ancient herbal remedy a try.

5. Tongkat Ali (Longjack)

Adaptogenic Herbs for Hormone Balance Tongkat Ali

Tongkat Ali (Longjack) is a powerful aphrodisiac that works well for both men and women.

This is an adaptogenic herb that’s native to Indonesia, and has been used safely for hundreds of years.

Of course, tongkat ali is primarily taken for its love-enhancing, testosterone-boosting benefits. But, it’s also commonly used to enhance mood, improve stress hormones, and create a sense of overall well-being. It’s important to note that tongkat ali can stimulate the libido of men and women alike. So, this is a great herb for people of all genders and age groups.

And most importantly – the hormone-balancing effects of tongkat ali can be extremely beneficial to anyone who’s dealing with stress related to work, relationships or life in general.

You can choose to use all 5 of the adaptogenic herbs for hormone balance listed in the article. On the other hand, you might just want to use one of them – or none of them at all.

The key point is that you should now be aware of the potential life-changing benefits of these adaptogens.

You no longer have to rely on artificial hormone replacement therapies, pills and patches – if you don’t want to.

Instead, you can choose to lean on Mother Nature, and she’ll almost always take great care of you.
