The 5 Best Cities In The USA: Here Are The Best Places To Live in 2020

Last Updated: October 18, 2019

The USA offers some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery on Earth. Between the mountainous terrain of the Rockies, the hot and humid swamps of the South, and the cool air of the Pacific Northwest – there’s a little something for everyone here, regardless of how picky you may be.

However, it can still be difficult to find a city in the U.S. that’s a perfect match for your active and on-the-go lifestyle. It’s for this reason that I’ve ranked the 5 best cities in the USA according to the following “best city factors”…

  • Best USA City Factor #1. The city provides free access to outdoor activities
  • Best USA City Factor #2. The city’s culture is open and accepting
  • Best USA City Factor #3. The city offers a fun, upbeat and vibrant lifestyle

Now that you know how the cities on this list are ranked, it’s time for you to check out the full list…

Best U.S. City #5. Austin, Texas

Austin, Texas is well-known as a city of “alternative” lifestyles (especially for Texas). It’s an excellent U.S. city because of its hip culture and energetic atmosphere.

Austin is ultimately a mash-up of great food, tech start-ups, world-class universities and more. Not to mention, Austin is a prime destination for digital nomads because of Texas’ relatively low cost of living and business tax rates.

Some of Austin’s major attractions also include world-class music festivals like Austin City Limits, beautiful outdoor spaces like Zilker Park, and the amazing Sixth Street entertainment district.

Best U.S. City #4. New Orleans, Louisiana

Some call New Orleans, Louisiana a stranger, crazier and more down-to-earth version of Austin, Texas.

While New Orleans offers beautiful outdoor scenery and thrilling entertainment just as Austin, there is a key difference between the two cities…

New Orleans offers an abundance of fresh seafood straight from the Gulf of Mexico, a full month of partying known as Carnival season, and a distinct French culture which makes it unlike any other U.S. city.

Best U.S. City #3. Miami, Florida

Most people refer to Miami as the nightlife hub of North America.

The city is like a melting pot of Latin, European and many other cultures. But, nightlife and diverse culture is the least that you’ll find in this amazing U.S. city.

With some of the very finest beaches, best-looking people, and an active lifestyle that revolves around staying busy in the sun – Miami is undeniably a top-notch place to live in the USA.

Best U.S. City #2. San Diego, California

San Diego is a beautiful and sunny city located in Southern California.

San Diego’s excellent year-round climate, great food, and amazing beaches attract adventurous people from all around the world. Many people also refer to San Diego as the “internet business headquarters” of the world.

So, with all of the amazing benefits that San Diego has to offer (including a reasonable cost of living) you have to consider this U.S. city as one of the best.

Best U.S. City #1. New York City, New York

Staying busy is important for your health and well-being.

You need work, hobbies and relationships to dedicate your time to.

Luckily for you, there isn’t a single place in the USA with more going on than New York City. It’s where life truly is taking place.

Fashion, music, television and art are just a few of the industries that thrive in the Big Apple.

If you hope to live out your dreams, or maybe even just experience a little bit more fun in life, NYC could very well be the best U.S. city for you.

Best Cities to Live in USA Conclusion

While there are hundreds of amazing cities to live in throughout the United States, there are undoubtedly 5 cities that I have to place at the top of the list.

Austin, New Orleans, Miami, San Diego, and NYC are some of the most interesting places that anyone can choose to live.

If you crave to be surrounded by an open and accepting culture, then Miami could be right for you. Or, if you hope to explore your wild side, then you may want to give New Orleans a try.

But, if you want to have it all (urban scenery, dating, excitement) then New York City is likely the best U.S. city for you.
